2.1 miles // 25:30

Not sure why I added time today. I didn't take a water bottle, which may have been a factor, and although I didn't eat this morning, I probably still had food in my system from last night. I ran more today than I did yesterday (as opposed to walking) but for some reason I added time, which just doesn't make sense to me. I'll see what happens tomorrow.

2.1 miles // 25:00

Took a bottle of water along today - maybe a mistake; I'm not sure. It felt like it slowed me down a little, even though I was slightly faster today. I also ate a plate of food about an hour and a half or so before I left, which may have been a slowdown factor as well. Tomorrow I'll try the bottle on an empty stomach.

2.1 miles // 25:12

Ran a little slower than usual again today, and it's probably because I took yesterday off. I think I may start carrying a water bottle with me, because I don't really feel physical exhaustion or lack of breath as much as dehydration. It may help my endurance a bit.

2.1 miles // 24:36

Slightly slower pace today, as I took yesterday off because I didn't feel well. I tried a new course (which I'm dubbing the "Garr Loop") and I really liked it a lot. It's a pretty good length for my level at the moment, and I was able to finish it without trouble. I think I just need to focus on getting faster now.

1.1 miles // 11:45

Extreme breathing problems today, but still increased running to walking ratio. Ran between 90% and 95% of the course. Took yesterday off, so maybe that's why breathing was difficult.

1.1 miles // 11:52

Breathing was significantly better today, but I had a bit of a headache, which I think slowed me down. I may have been able to clear 11:45 without it. I think the sun got to me. Increased ratio of running to walking again - ran probably 85-90% of the course.

1.1 mi. // 00::12:00

I was able to significanty lower the ratio of walk time as opposed to run time today. I ran for at least 80% of the course, which is impressive to me as I probably walked about 50% of it two days ago. I feel great.

TIME: 12:00

It should be noted that I started this blog two days after I began running. My times from the last two days were as follows:

18 May 2005
1.1 miles - Nutwood Loop
TIME: 12:35

17 May 2005
1.1 miles - Nutwood Loop
TIME: 12:48

It seems that shortness of breath is my biggest struggle.
